Each week Tri-Monkey Coaching runs two coached swim session at Hawthorn High School, Pontypridd. The swim session runs Monday and Wednesday evenings from 8pm to 9pm.
What’s Involved – This is a coached swim session lasting for 1hr, the aim of the session is to improve your technique, make you fitter and faster for the racing season ahead. The first part of each session will focus on improving technique with the second part working on fitness.
Who coaches the session?– The swim session at Hawthorn School is run by Tri-Monkey head coach Rich Brady. In short, Rich is a British Triathlon Level 3 triathlon coach, 1st4Sport Level 2 Strength and Conditioning Coach, ASA level 2 Swim Teacher, British Triathlon Coach Educator and a UKAD Clean Sport Educator. Rich has experience working with novice and elite level athletes, coached athletes to win World and European medals at both Elite and Age Group levels. When – The session takes place on Monday evenings at 8pm to 9pm. Please be poolside and loosening up by 7:45, so we can make a prompt start at 8pm.
Where – Hawthorn School, Pontypridd, CF37 5AL.
Cost – £6 pre booked and paid.
How to book – Contact Rich on the form below, with a brief outline of your swimming and racing experience, current swimming ability (approx 400m time) and any target races for the season. All swimmers must be able to swim a minimum of 400m continuously. All participants will be required to complete a medical form declaring themselves fit to take part.
Session is limited to 16 people
What do you need to bring – Yourself, swimming costume, goggles, swim hat (optional), pull buoy, kick board, paddles, band (old inner tube cut and ends tied to fit around your ankles), drink to keep hydrated, post session snack to refuel and promote a quick recovery. If you don’t have some or all of the swim equipment, some may be available to borrow.
